Lazy Days

It's so good to get out of London. Just spent a few days chilling at home and I'm now kicking back in The Shire...walked by the sea, went sledging, shot a pigeon, played with Paddy's new puppy and generally immersed myself in all the things it's not so easy to do in the big smoke.

In line with the change of scene the theme on my ipod has been a chilled one, with a tendency towards dubstep and hip-hop, so this is a selection of old & new tunes from across the genres that have aided and abetted the big chillin...

Goldie - 'Timeless' (SBTRKT edit)
I got a lotta love for this kind of pleasant, easy-on the ear dubstep, and even if you're as anti drum and bass as myself you shouldn't let Goldie's name on this track put you off...SBTRKT has caught my attention recently with a few beaut tracks and he's worked his magic on this remix

Disrupt - '21st century planet smashas'
Had i seen the name of this track before it played i almost certainly wouldn't have listened to it so i'm glad i was in the car and giving my full attention to the road for once. It's a wonderful concoction of sounds that have combined to create a mellow, glitchy, dubsteppish groove.

Bon Iver - 'Re: Stacks' (Tomas Barfod remix)
I know it doesn't require a huge amount of work to make a Bon Iver track chilled but Danish producer Tomas Barfod (aka. TomBoy) has added some really nice touches to this one, which gives it a little something extra

Tanlines - 'Real Life' (Memory Tapes remix)
This track's so nice I managed to play it on repeat for almost an hour before I realised something was up

2Pac - 'Thugz Mansion' (Nas acoustic version)
An all time great that everyone should have in their music library.

IbelLini - 'Empire of Loco 3'
A little something special now. I used to go to school with this guy, way back when... And my best memory of him was practicing throwing the cricket ball for our school sports day. I thought i was the shit having thrown further than anyone else...he stepped up and launched the ball into orbit. I was secretly pretty glad when he left the school a year later and I was able to reclaim my crown as the cricket ball champion but it's really good to see he's making waves in the music world nowadays, and making some beautiful music too...
